Environmental Specialist I or II
Arizona G&T Cooperatives is seeking candidates for the position of Environmental Specialist I or II. This position ensures continuous compliance with environmental permits and regulations applicable to operations at Arizona Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (AEPCO), an electric generation and transmission cooperative. Assisting with the planning, implementing and maintaining a variety of safety and environmental programs to assure facility compliance. This position is based at the Apache Generating Station in Cochise, Arizona but could require a regular day, off site, at a substation or Benson campus for inspections or cleanups.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Salary: $5,977.42 - $8,325.33/ monthly (Salary and level will be dependent upon education and experience)

- Performing duties associated with environmental monitoring, record keeping, reporting and analysis for the Apache Generation Station.
- Be a self-starting individual who enjoys the daily challenge associated with an industrial field.
- Ensure the timely performance of compliance-related activities required of waste management, air permit, water permit programs cooperative-wide, coal combustion residual rule to include directing outside contractors, environmental sampling, maintenance of documentation and report preparation
- Assist in initial response and remediation activities related to environmental emergencies, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials, oil, toxic and unknown substance spills at cooperative owned or managed facilities
