A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ESTIMATOR
As an Estimator, you are at the front-end of our construction projects. You ensure each project is set up to be financially viable by gathering proposals from subcontractors or vendors, reviewing all applicable construction documents, and researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labor, and equipment. Using your number skills, you generate estimated labor, material take-offs, and expenses for every project. This includes monitoring the costs of projects at the different stages to ensure it stays within the estimated budget. In a timely manner, you get quotes from suppliers or subcontractors and submit all of the bids and expenses to management for review. You also find and follow up on leads, bring new projects to the table, assess risks, submit quotations, and maintain good relationships with contractors and vendors. You enjoy using your estimation skills to help us stay on budget!
ESTIMATOR QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience as an Estimator in commercial and residential construction
- Ability to read blueprints and other contracts, documents, and reports
- Full knowledge of Gmail and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- A clean driving record, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOJ background check
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions correspondence, memos, blueprints, and floor plans
Strong MEP knowledge, a bachelor's degree in construction management, or related field experience is a plus! Are you professional in appearance and etiquette? ESTIMATOR WORK SCHEDULE
With a focus on a good work-life balance, this full-time estimation position works Monday to Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM with overtime as needed. The occasional Saturday may be required, based on client availability or the deadline for bid submission.
