ECS is seeking a Classified Hardware Analyst to work in our Albuquerque, NM office.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Classified Hardware Analyst to support a major laboratory in Albuquerque, NM!
Duties:
Perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and repair of physical and virtual Server based systems. Support assignments to resolve technical issues affecting hardware, operating systems, or applications. Work with vendors or external partners to diagnose and resolve issues. Following instructions, maintain systems by applying Operating System or Application patches, install new or replace hardware, and apply configuration changes to improve or restore system performance. Perform system capacity analysis and planning. Assist users in accessing and using business systems. Work within the team to evaluate and disposition classified hardware.
- Including but not limited to: thin clients, desktops, laptops, servers, printers, scanners and other peripherals
- Interface with end users and sysadmins to answer questions regarding procuring and disposing classified computing hardware/equipment.
- Work with vendors on the availability, security, and compatibility of hardware.
- Research and document potential security concerns on new and existing hardware.
- Coordinate with ISSOs/ISSMs on approvals and exemptions for peripherals/hardware.
- Assist with implementing, testing, and administering new and existing classified endpoints.
Required Skills:
- Active DOE Q clearance would be preferred, however, if the candidate is qualified, the team would accept an L or Uncleared candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. In lieu of BS degree, 6 years of related experience, or AA in related field 3 years related experience.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with automation solutions (PowerShell, testplant, VB, etc.) for process improvement efforts.
- Ability to team/collaborate with cyber security teams to develop plans for NIST/IATT controls for implementation of new enhancements.
- Experience with deploying / configuring Linux environments or connecting windows servers to Linux service providers through middleware configurations.
- Needs to be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with cloud/VM management technologies (self-service).
