ECS is seeking a TS-cleared Information Technology (IT) Operations Manager to oversee an 80-person Service Desk and Network Operations Command managed services program, supporting approximately 50,000 government and contractor end users both CONUS and OCONUS. We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to oversee and manage our IT infrastructure and operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT services, managing a team of IT professionals, and implementing best practices to enhance system performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, including network management, system administration, and IT support.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure efficient and secure operations.
- Manage IT projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Ensure the security of the IT infrastructure, including data protection, backup, and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements to keep our IT infrastructure current and competitive.
- Schedule and manage IT staff shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage and support.
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of IT equipment and software.
- Prepare and manage the IT department budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must have a current Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of obtaining SCI and Counter Intelligence Polygraph if needed to meet contract requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Operations Manager or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and best practices.
- Experience with network management, system administration, and IT support.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools like ServiceNow, BMC Remedy or JIRA.
- Strong project management skills and experience with methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
