ECS is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to work in our Dahlgren, VA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Description:
ECS has an opportunity for a Senior Database Admin to support a cyber program for a DoD client based onsite in Dahlgren, VA. This position requires a minimum Interim Top Secret clearance.
The Program
The Senior Database Admin will be part of a team of experts charged with providing capabilities to support the customer's rapid design, development, test, deployment, maintenance, and operation of specific software and hardware capabilities to meet current DoD cyber needs. The areas for developmental focus are cyber analysis and cyber development capabilities in response to Navy’s and DoD’s needs for Cyber Situational Awareness (SA), Cyber Command and Control (C2), Mission Assurance, and Homeland Defense. Program scope includes identifying cyber key terrain by analyzing operational requirements, conducting cyber analyses and assessments, and developing and performing modeling and simulation in support of different cyber threat scenarios. Additionally, program support includes developing methodology and framework in support of the cyber risk assessment life cycle.
The Role
As a Senior Database Admin on this program, you will use your expertise and experience in the following areas and activities to deliver solutions and services to our customer:
- 5 Years of IT Experience as an Oracle DBA in a Windows/Linux environment
- Superb understanding of Unix Administration with respect to supporting oracle database and application servers
- Expertise in Production Oracle 12c/19c environments including PL/SQL, RMAN, Data Guard
- Proficient in managing databases with multi-tenant architecture
- Proficient in database upgrade and quarterly PSU Patching of oracle database using OEM Provisioning Tool
- Expertise with Loading data using Data Pump utilities
- Expertise with Oracle performance tuning
- Expertise in Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Strong experience in Backup and Recovery of large databases using RMAN
- Working knowledge of Oracle Advanced security tools
- Experience with configuring/installing SSL Certificates and Oracle Wallets for the database and Web Servers
- Develop, review, and enforce database standards
- Experienced with SDLC methodologies
- Ability to document database performance issues and help team members understand the resolution process
- Able to work independently
- Working knowledge in Windows sql-server

Required Skills:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance (Min Interim Top Secret)
- DoDI 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technology (IAT) Level II certification(s) required to work on government IT systems to include one of the: CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, CompTIA Security CE, SSCP or higher-level certification
- Must hold current (or acquire within six (6) months) the appropriate operating system certification for information assurance technical positions as required by DoD 8570.01-M
- Installing, maintaining, tuning, patching, and monitoring Oracle databases.
- Monitoring application connectivity and performance.
- Monitoring and maintaining database logs.
- Reviewing weekly security scans and preparing mitigation plan for database findings.
- Experience managing databases or applications on Windows servers.
- Experience working on a multi-disciplinary technical team.
- Must be able to support weekend maintenance schedule.
- Creating, maintaining, and uploading technical documentation.
- Experience engineering enterprise-scale applications that perform extract/transform/load (ETL) operations with external data sources
- Experience creating stored procedures, PL/SQL scripts for applications or data manipulation
- Strong Oracle database development experience, including SQL, PL/SQL, configuration, performance tuning, etc.
Desired Skills:
- Installing, maintaining, tuning, patching, and monitoring Oracle 19c database.
- Migrating applications and databases to new environments.
- Experience with Database ETL processing and data migration.
- Experience with Windows SQL Server data processing (data Import and Export).
- Experience working in an Agile development team construct
