ECS is seeking a VOIP System Architect to work in our Albuquerque, NM office.
Job Description:
Encantado Technical Solutions (ETS) is an unpopulated Small Business Administration-approved mentor-protégé joint venture between Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. and ECS Federal, LLC. ETS is bolstered by second-tier subcontractors Information International Associates (IIA) and Amentum. ETS provides comprehensive enterprise and mission-embedded IT support for the $400 - $700 million Third-Party Telecommunications and Information Technology Support Services contract at Sandia National Laboratories. ETS is currently recruiting for a variety of cleared and uncleared IT positions with on-site and remote opportunities in New Mexico and California. As ETS is unpopulated, employees will work for one of the four companies listed above.
This client’s organization provides a VoIP telecommunications system, the Sandia Voice Networking (SVN) with emphasis on securing and protecting Sandia’s information. The organization is striving to meet new standards and protocols (IPv6) throughout our infrastructure and continuing to modernize and streamline our services for onsite and remote workers. The selected candidate will be an integral part of designing, developing, and integrating new solutions and improving existing solutions. IT infrastructure service on modern telecommunications systems for data, telephone, wireless LAN, RF Microwave, and encryption capabilities to Sandia with emphasis on securing and protecting Sandia’s information standardization.
Responsibilities:
- Apply mathematics, computer science, and engineering practices and skills to information system problems.
- Research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or regulatory changes affecting policies or programs of various information system domains.
- Interface with the customer – internal or external to Sandia – to elicit and define information system requirements.
- Research, protype, architect, and design solutions for effective operation of mission enabling or direct mission information systems.
- Answer the internal or external customer for overall technical performance of information systems.
- Resolve issues that require architectural changes.
- Develop strategies solutions that reduce future life-cycle costs and position Sandia synergistically for future mission work.
- Identify risks and risk-reduction strategies as part of balancing performance, cost, and schedule for various technical options.
- Report on progress and advances to peers, management, and stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-system collaboration to define interfaces between systems.
- Evaluate, test, and analyzes implementation, functionality, performance, and tools of information system solutions, ensuring that requirements and acceptance criteria are met.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline plus seven (7) or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship
- Experience with:
- Avaya installation, operations, and maintenance
- Experience with private cloud infrastructure, preferably Nutanix and VMware
- Session Border Controller (SBCE) technology, preferably AVAYA
- Session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking session protocol
- Leadership skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
