Position: Export FCL Coordinator
Scope
Coordinate’s activities relating to arranging quotes, documentation and logistics of FCL transportation to worldwide markets. Tasks will include making bookings, ensuring documentation is complete/accurate, handling customer service requests relating to the transportation of cargo/containers. Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining working relationships with Agents, Vendors, Steam Ship Lines and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Arrange export bookings with carriers
- Dispatch orders to drayage companies
- Obtain documents from customers according to each country requirement
- File AES on behalf of the shipper in internal system or AES Direct prior to sailing
- Submit shipping instructions to carriers
- Follow up on instructions and leads from foreign agents
- Responsible for ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete (documentation includes but is not limited to ssl - truckers bills of ladings, documents for steamship lines, hazardous declarations, etc.)
- Maintain working relationships with customers, agents, vendors, steamship lines, and colleagues.
- Handle Rates/Quotes
Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of transportation industry experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general industry documentation/communications.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
