Job Summary:
EDCO has an immediate need to hire a Production Operator. The Production Operator is a key member of the EDCO Paintline Team supporting the execution of EDCO’s Paintline production strategy. Success will be defined by your ability to pull down and set up coils for proper paint run in order from largest to smallest size and place finished product in the proper area.
Hours:
Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • This position is required to train on 1st or 2nd shift for approximately 4-6 months prior to starting on 3rd shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Places coils on the unwinders with hoist, starts coils on the rewinders and removes painted coils off the rewinder
  • Examines bare and coated metal for defects
  • Replaces rollers as needed
  • Stitches coils together to maintain a continuous line
  • Grinds and smoothes paint rollers on lathes, when needed
  • Loads and unloads trucks, when needed
Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to take direction; display a sense of urgency during unpredictable and intense paint line manufacturing circumstances
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to read and understand tape measurers and calculators
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to report to work on time
  • Ability to adhere to attendance policy
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear
  • Required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally lift and/or move 50-75 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
Work Environment:
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and heat (proper PPE & safety training will be provided)
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
  • Paid breaks, frequent but short and intermittent throughout the shift, depending upon the operations of the paint line
