What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at Edge One?
Position: Service Technician - Level I, II, and Senior Level
Reports To: Direct Supervisor and VP of Service Solutions of Edge One, Inc.
Status: Full-time
Work Schedule: 8-5 Monday through Friday with limited Overtime including an on call: Once every 4 weeks (7 days a week 8am to 10p). Overtime should be discussed with VP and Supervisor.
Variable hours may occur including weekends.
General Functions:
This position is responsible for hardware and software support of all products sold or operated by the Edge One, Inc. This includes installing and providing 2nd line maintenance, phone support and assisting with training our customers on issues related to their equipment.
Skills and Qualifications: Level I:
1. Must be able to drive a vehicle, day and night, and pass an annual driving test.
2. Must possess the necessary skills and willing to work in and armed environment.
3. Able to pass D.O.T. physical examination and drug screening test.
4. Must be able to load and unload a 200 lb. ATM from van.
5. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
6. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, squat and twist in various positions while servicing equipment.
7. Must be able to read and understand written product manuals and apply that knowledge in servicing related equipment within guidelines.
8. Must be bondable.
9. Must have and maintain a clean driving record and be insurable.
10. Must be able to demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment, displaying a strong work ethic and integrity.
11. Must be willing to attend training classes as requested. Overnight travel may be required.
12. Prior knowledge of FLM ATM experience is preferred.
13. Prior knowledge of Windows bases operating systems in preferred.
Skills and Qualifications: Level II:
In addition to the Level I criteria, the following is necessary for the Level II designation:
1. Certified Service Engineer for NCR ATM’s or be able to obtain certification within 9 months of employment.
2. Certified Service Engineer for all Tranax equipment or be willing to become certified within 1 year of employment.
3. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems, repair and replace parts.
Skills and Qualifications: Senior Level:
In addition to Levels I and II criteria, the following is necessary for the Senior Level designation:
1. Proficient knowledge and use of the NCR Web Site and ability to interrupt and advise Service Manager of any Service Bulletin issue by NCR that may require scheduled field work or information that should be passed along to the Team Leader for input into Tech’s Tip Publication
2. Act as a backup for parts and inventory control, following company policy and procedures.
3. Act as a backup for processing all RMA’s and warranty related issues.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Represent Edge One, Inc. and Service Solutions in a professional manner.
2. Develop and maintain technical and programming product knowledge of all products serviced by Service Solutions.
3. Work with prospects to determine their specific needs for services available through Service Solutions – pass all prospective customer leads on to Vice president of Sales.
4. Responsible for maintenance, technical support and installation of all products designated by management.
5. Required to be well groomed (neat and clean) and in a Service Solutions uniform with assigned badge while on duty.
6. Available for “on call” work when assigned.
7. Prepare and submit all required paperwork for each service call and installation of equipment in a timely and productive manner.
8. Follow all Service Solutions policies and procedures.
9. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
Language:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to outside contact, customers and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
