Job Summary: The Social Worker will be responsible for trauma informed intake, assessment and providing referral services for clients seeking support from the Marks JCH UCRC. They will be directly involved in providing resources and assistance; helping clients navigate resources available to them through internal and external services. The Social Worker will work with case workers, job specialists, youth & family counselors, domestic violence counselors and other related specialists, offering clients a full service support system. The Social Worker must be highly organized, empathetic, compassionate and eager to help vulnerable families. You will often be the first point of contact for many of the clients, establishing trust and determining need will be essential.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive case management, information, and case assistance services, service coordination, referrals, and advocacy related to benefits, entitlements, and housing.
Develop program resources and referral network.
Providing support and resources for clients; inclusive but not limited to government resources, internal services including emergency cash assistance and community resources.
Advocating and raising awareness on behalf of clients and the needs of the community and local services.
Assist with program outreach and communication.
Develop timely responses and interventions for clients’, and conduct ongoing evaluations and follow-up.
Oversee record keeping. Ensure maintenance of accurate client records, oversee data collection and entry; complete statistical reporting as needed.
Attend meetings for the Brooklyn Ukraine Relief Hub.
Requirements and Qualifications
Possesses strong written and spoken communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent time management skills; Ability to organize large amounts of files, schedules, and information
Comfortable in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment
Demonstrated strong commitment to client empowerment and working with a diverse population
Masters of Social Work Degree 2 years of experience in related fields such as social work/case management
Bilingual Russian/English or Ukrainian/English
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
