What are the responsibilities and job description for the OCOSTA - PARAEDUCATORS (2022/23) position at EdJobsNW?
The Ocosta School District is now accepting applications for Elementary & Jr/Sr HS Paraeducators. The positions are for 6.5 hrs/day, Monday-Friday. (Currently there are two open positions within the district.)
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a quick learner with good math and computation skills.
- Keyboarding experience required.
- Establish positive relationships with students.
- Aid program staff in managing care of autistic students.
- Ability to work with body fluids.
- Prepares specified learning materials or equipment for use by students.
- Reports on learning or difficulties encountered by students to the certificated staff member or supervisor.
- Operates automated and technical instructional equipment.
- Ability to handle disruptions and behavior problems.
- Reports learning or other difficulties encountered by students to the certificated staff or supervisor.
- Must be punctual and have good attendance.
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Relieves the teacher of routine clerical duties in the classroom.
- Ability to get along with students, staff, and community.
- Ability to be a positive role model and always maintain a positive attitude toward students.
- Computer and clerical skills as assessed by school administration, including the possible use of objective testing if determined appropriate by school administration.
- Follow all district policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Interest in children with learning difficulties.
- Patience with slow progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.
