PURPOSE STATEMENT
The position of Nutrition Services Clerk is to support the food service staff in a self-preparation school kitchen that provides breakfast and lunches for 2 schools all while following Federal regulations pertaining to the National School Lunch Program. General responsibilities include the financial aspect, (POS) account maintenance, Free/Reduced Household application process, meals and supply order reconciliation and processing, and other general clerical support of the program. This position involves frequent liaison with students, parents, vendors, and site staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include, but not limited to the following)
- Assist in requisition and ordering of food, supplies and equipment used with Food Services
- Reconcile and process Food Service invoices and purchasing documentation; assist as needed in the accounts payable process; assist in providing records during audit
- Assist with implementation, maintenance, and reconciliation of POS and accounts; assist in follow up with parents and site staff (as needed)
- Assist with production of student POS identification cards (as needed)
- Accept, record, reconcile, and deposit cash from school site related to Food Service
- Assist with Free/Reduced application process, including distribution, receipt, review, evaluation, and approval of applications; ensure confidentiality of sensitive information (if applicable)
- Assist in responding to inquiries of parents, staff, and public for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the type and cost of meals
- Assist in ensuring that proper certifications and permits are documented/filed and renewed in a timely manner
- Assist other kitchen personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
- Record keeping which includes meal production records, daily worksheets, temperature logs, medical statement forms, and menus

- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- High School Diploma or GED
