SUMMARY
The Advocacy Director is part of a highly strategic customer facing team responsible for increasing Edmentum’s state and district level relationships, thought leadership partnerships, and ultimately revenue opportunity in the largest districts in the nation.
The Advocacy Director functions as an educational, go-to-market leader and Edmentum ambassador in assigned regions to create strategy, build professional networks, and liaise with other departments to support the needs of the region. The Advocacy Director partners with the sales, customer success, marketing, product teams, community based, and government relations groups to execute engagements with the highest levels of executive and political leadership in Edmentum target markets.
Edmentum’s team of Advocacy Directors operate as a high trust, connected team, working together to collaboratively solve for big national and international needs of the company including representation at national and international events and well as supporting organizations that cross state and national boundaries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Primary owner of customer facing advocacy efforts for the region assigned by the advocacy SVP including:
• designing a strategy to increase Edmentum’s state and district level relationships, thought leadership partnerships, and ultimately revenue opportunity in the largest districts revenue in assigned region
• aligning priorities and activities with the business objectives of the Edmentum strategic plan
• leading efforts to gain access to and collaborate with high level executive and political stakeholders
• providing consultative and presentation engagements with executive district and political leadership
• leading the creation of situational awareness briefs designed to enable Edmentum’s executive leadership team to effectively build relationships with high level educational leaders
• leading the gathering and creation custom resources for each region and strategic opportunity
o GR, legislative, landscape, climate, policy, resource
• Working with government relations to constantly update and communicate intelligence about the region
• Leading social and thought leadership engagements with collegiate networks including dinners, roundtables, panel discussions and presentations
• Growing a network of decision makers and influences across their region
Provide Subject Matter Expertise to Sales Enablement including:
• sharing the most effective ways to position and message Edmentum’s products/solutions and services to various stakeholder levels
• field testing and providing feedback on positioning strategies and talking points
• sharing ideas on effective questioning models to generate interest and promote deep thinking amongst executive stakeholders
• sharing techniques for making formal presentations with impact based on the who, what, why and how of customizing presentations based on situational awareness
• sharing observations on national and international themes.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• 10 years of experience in K-12 education or educational technology industry preferred
• Extensive collegiate network in K-12 education preferred
• 3 years of K-12 district administration experience preferred
• Interpersonal skills, and the ability to speak and write clearly.
