DESCRIPTION
Familias En Acción seeks an outgoing and self-motivated Community Organizer to
work closely with the Executive Director to carry out outreach activities, foundation building, training, education, and development of leadership among our residents within the Winchell neighborhood boundaries

Position Responsibilities:
The community organizer will be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to:

• Identify resident leaders through individual, group meetings small, and other forms of community participation.
• Organize listening circles to understand the needs, problems, and neighborhood concerns;
• Carry out outreach activities on problem-based research and inform the direction of the neighborhood campaign.
• Assist in organizational strategy, planning, evaluation, and implementation.
• Carry out regular outreach activities to raise awareness and increase member participation in neighborhood initiatives.
• Develop partnerships with other community-based organizations to develop more resources for the neighborhood.
• Engage residents by making meaningful connections through outreach activities, community meetings, projects to improve the neighborhood, activities to promote culture, scrutiny, and telephone banking.
• Maintain, update, and track data information about the resident engagement through the use of our various tools and platforms.
• Attend training as needed.

Skills, abilities, and qualifications:

• At least 2 years of previous experience in community participation.
• Outgoing personality, able to work with a diverse group of people.
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Special interest in building power within the community.
• Able to attend evening meetings and work some weekends.
• Must be bilingual, and fluent in English and Spanish.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and

self-motivation.

• Positive, proactive, and personable team player.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage diverse projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

collaborative.

• Must have knowledge of social media platforms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must use their hands and fingers regularly. The employee is often required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms, kneel, talk and listen. Sometimes this position can include periods of prolonged physical activity, such as walking/standing at events community and/or moving and distributing educational materials. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Night shift
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Fresno, CA 93726: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
