What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Analyst / Administrator position at Edupoint?
Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for Client Release Management, Computer System Administration, and Disaster Recovery Services.
Job Summary:
Ensure that Edupoint’s implementation methodology is adhered to in all Client Release Management, Computer System Administration, and Disaster Recovery Services on Edupoint Student Information System products. Manage and perform all required technical tasks as assigned.
Job Duties:
- Maintain timely communication with customers
- Perform all technical duties related to implementation, such as system installation/setup, system and software updates, hardware configuration, LDAP integration
- Become a Subject Matter Expert in all technical areas required for successful completion of assigned duties
- Identify and proactively address any potential risks to the project, as it relates to all technical considerations
- Facilitate and ensure adherence to project plans based on Edupoint’s implementation methodology for all implementations
- Perform after hour’s software upgrades as directed
- Report project status on a regular basis
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements-Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge:
- K-12 education knowledge preferred, knowledge of student information systems a plus.
- Skill:
- Database Management Systems (Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle) including the creation of SQL scripts for the purpose of manipulating and inserting data
- Microsoft Windows Server Management, Active Directory Configuration
- Server/Network Hardware Installation and Configuration including Load Balancers and SAN’s
- Installation and Configuration of Microsoft SQL Server
- Ability:
- Excellent verbal/written communication required.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks.
- Attention to detail required.
- Ability to travel, 5-10% of working hours spent traveling
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
B. A. or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Microsoft Certifications (Windows, IIS, MSSQL) preferred.
- Oracle certifications a plus.
Typical Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stopping, bending and stretching for files and supplies, occasionally lifting files, objects or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary. Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone and video conferencing contacts. Visual acuity necessary to work extended hours on computer screens. Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise and which can be fast paced and project intensive. Travel and some extended overnight trips in the performance of duties may be required.
