What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Tech position at Edward-Elmhurst Health?
General Summary: Operates MRI equipment to obtain filmed images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies, according to Radiologist's directions and established procedures. Positions patients, administers injections of contrast media and manipulates images to ensure a high quality exam. Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects to job, being attentive of eye contact, facial/body expressions and tone of voice. Explains procedure to patient, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.
Location: Plainfield Campus
Hours: Part-time, 3:00pm-11:30pm
Required:
- At a minimum, must be a candidate for ARRT(R), NMTCB or ARMRIT certification. Must successfully complete certification exam and be registered within six months of hire date into position
- MR certification is required within one year of hire date into position
- Current CPR certification issued by American Heart Association
Preferred:
- IEMA licensure
- Previous MRI experience
- Post-processing and advanced knowledge of Functional Imaging
