The Leader of Advising serves as both a leader and technical subject matter expert in the Tailored Solutions area. Much of this work requires a broad and deep understanding of the firm's advice and guidance (A&G) and the branch/client experience – in order to integrate the Firm's A&G and ensure the integrity of A&G throughout the firm. This role requires both formal people leadership and thought leadership, as well as informal leadership through large firm initiatives.
- Performs the duties of a Senior Advising Specialist plus leadership responsibilities.
- Lead the associates who partner with internal A&G units (Client Needs, Investment Research and Investment Management) to integrate A&G at Edward Jones. This requires an expert level knowledge of our A&G and how it's deployed firm-wide.
- Lead associates in the evaluation of the firm's A&G content to ensure consistency and alignment. Has a deep understanding of Edward Jones business model, investment philosophy and values.
- Oversee the process of updating and applying our A&G (e.g. CMAs, white papers, strategy reports, diagnostics, portfolio construction, etc.) through all firm delivery channels.
- Serve as a deep subject matter expert (SME) for key stakeholders (Training, Service, CSG) and branch teams to ensure the integrity of the A&G is upheld through application and messaging.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders as the A&G SME throughout the life cycle of projects, including planning, design and implementation.
- Use trends derived from internal A&G workflow to identify potential enhancements and/or changes needed to our A&G. Articulate the business case for any content or application changes by partnering with stakeholders.
- Assess industry and regulatory trend data in financial and investment planning in order to contribute to strategic discussions on how to evolve our A&G to best serve our clients.
- Work in partnership with associates on team and other firm areas (Service, Field Supervision, Compliance, Legal, Operations) to problem-solve complex issues that arise regarding application of our A&G.
- For advanced A&G topics, production issues and/or complex branch team escalations, lead and coordinate needed expertise from other A&G units.
- Manage the most complex A&G irregularities, disruptions and issues.
- Handle significant escalations from internal stakeholders and branches related to client account activity or issues with our A&G by using seasoned judgment to implement solutions and helping direct resources to achieve results.
- Achieve results with and through others; serve as a Leader and mentor to others across the firm.
- Responsible for developing associates on the team.
- Monitor industry trends, competitors and regulatory changes. Assess how those trends impact our business, messaging and the application of our A&G.
Bachelor's degree; 7 years of relevant financial services experience
Series 7/66 required within 6 months of hire, consistent with department policy
CFP is required.
CPA, CFA, law degree or other relevant license strongly preferred
Advanced knowledge of Edward Jones client and branch team tools, including Financial Foundation, Portfolio, Proposal Tool, JonesLink and other related tools
Technical aptitude –significant knowledge of the following: firm's A&G, investment products, portfolio construction, and financial planning concepts.
Series 7/66 required within 6 months of hire, consistent with department policy
CFP is required.
