Edward Jones is undergoing a major initiative in how we help our FAs and Clients visualize, optimize and materialize retirement income for potentially all 7 million clients and branch teams.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be an integral team member of new Retirement Income products team within Edward Jones' Client Strategies Group. This team is responsible with firm's retirement income initiative including our overall methodology, client and FA experiences, existing and new investment solutions, specific planning techniques and "paycheck" execution strategies. Your role will require experience with high-impact, complex business projects and requires a high degree of strategic thinking, delivering the right results and championing change.

Responsibility Summary:
  • Integral team member of new Retirement Income products team within Edward Jones' Client Strategies Group
  • Assist and lead overall development and execution of the firm's Retirement Income strategy to ensure branch teams have quality products and support needed to help clients achieve their financial goals.
  • Participate in the design and development of innovative retirement income tools and solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders that align with firm advice and guidance. Responsibilities may include:
  • assisting with firm's retirement income methodology, including factoring existing and new investment solutions, tax strategies, social security claiming strategies, and other capabilities to optimize retirement income.
  • enhancing existing and introducing new retirement income tools & solutions via innovative digital and various education efforts
  • collaborating on the design and development of integrated platforms, systems, tools and processes that that create a better client and branch team experience, including operational enhancements and advisory solutions
  • managing and maintaining assigned portfolio of products/solutions including making recommendations to firm governance committees to add / remove / change products and services or product partners as needed.
  • identifying additional gaps and opportunities in serving clients' retirement income needs and create and execute plans to address.
  • ensuring product literature and wholesaling support is effective (quantity and quality) and is aligned and compliant with key firm messages.
  • interfacing with product partner peer contacts (Eg. relationship managers, product analysts, divisional sales managers, and operational managers) to effectively introduce and execute on our income strategy
  • Serve as subject matter expert on Retirement Income for the firm. Includes broad or some advanced knowledge of industry software, solutions, etc. and multiple product/service partner products, features, benefits, pricing, etc. and their relative positioning in the marketplace.
  • Have understanding of rules and potential changes in the tax, legal and regulatory environment for Retirement Income.
  • Leads certain additional responsibilities specific to the Retirement and Annuities Products areas (Eg. legislative and regulatory updates, recruiting, training, product partner coordination, etc.)
  • Participate in broad division, firm or industry initiatives and events as needed to represent Retirement Income in alignment with firm strategy (Eg. cross divisional-projects, internal committees, product partner events, regional events, industry groups, etc.)
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree required with quantitative discipline preferred (Eg. finance, economics, accounting, math, engineering, actuarial science, etc.).
  • Series 7, 66 required within 12 months of hire.
  • Progress toward advanced degree or relevant industry designation(s) preferred (e.g. CFA, CIMA, CFP, ChFC, CPA, AIF, ASA, FSA, etc.)

Years of Experience:
  • Generally, 7 years of relevant financial services experience, Retirement Income experience preferred.

Functional Knowledge:
  • Broad and some advanced knowledge of Retirement Income solutions and services
  • Brokerage / Advisory platforms knowledge as well as past financial advisor interactions
  • Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills
  • Highly collaborative / team player
  • Solid written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with systems and tools such as MS Office, Tableau and databases
  • Curious by nature
