At Edward Jones, we are building out our Data Governance and Enablement platforms. We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help us design and implement our strategic vision. As part of our team, you will be challenged to find innovative solutions to improve the speed and consumption of our information. This will also bring you into contact with a diverse array of stakeholders ranging from Enterprise and Solution Architects to our product and business organizations, and you will be working on defining the Data Governance implementation to establish a foundational data layer for Edward Jones.

- The platform engineer will focus their work on design thinking across the enterprise, integrating the Data Governance tools implementations of Collibra Data Integration Catalog, Collibra Data Quality, BigID Data Privacy and Retention, and Informatica SaaS MDM/RDM
- Leads projects and teams of Platform Engineers on complex efforts. Responsible to draw and document the solution and socialize with the team. Help develop a hands-on proof of concept.
- Assists in hands-on troubleshooting complex issues/efforts with other team members or cross-divisional teams, leveraging experience to quickly identify the issue, propose a fix, and be able to determine the root cause.
- Ability to quickly come up to speed on new technologies and apply learned fundamentals to the new technologies, ensuring highly performant and fault-tolerant systems.
- Provides system monitoring with an additional focus on cost metrics
- Proactively identify unnecessary complexity and potential failure points, and assist with creating plans to reduce or eliminate where appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technology teams and business partners to facilitate improved alignment of technology initiatives to business strategies. Collaborates across the portfolio, engaging in AWGs outside of our Portfolio, CCOE, Security, PST/Firewall, EA involvement.
- Configure and deploy reporting systems using technologies like Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, ETL Tools, BI servers, and Report Development Tools.
- Focus on continuous improvement to drive a seamless, modernized associate/user experience
- Assist, mentor, and train team members and business partners
- Good communication and presentation skills to be able to interact with business stakeholders

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or Management Information Technology preferred or related work experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience across multiple technology areas.
- Working knowledge of Collibra Data Integration Catalog, Data Quality tools, BigID and Informatica MDM, RDM, and DQ, and Collibra Ranger certification is highly desirable.
- Must be able to design and develop IT architecture solutions to support firm business strategies.
- Previous experience with Cloud and Azure is Preferable, and certification is desirable.
- Specific modern knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Standard IBM products (Z/OS, CICS, and DB2), Standard Microsoft products (Vista, XP, Exchange, Office, Outlook), J2EE, Java, Oracle, and Linux.
- Knowledge of brokerage or financial company processes
- Embraces change and consider different approaches to issues
- Strong understanding of agile and project management concepts
