Team Overview:
Edward Jones is seeking a Security Engineer to join our newly created Security Operations Team. This individual will be responsible for working closely with security associates on multiple security operations impacting technology platforms, applications security and infrastructure. This Security Engineer will be instrumental in delivering the business agility, elastic scalability, enhanced security, and reduction in our support for on-premise commodity solutions.
What You'll Do:
Edward Jones is seeking a Security Engineer to join our newly created Security Operations Team. This individual will be responsible for working closely with security associates on multiple security operations impacting technology platforms, applications security and infrastructure. This Security Engineer will be instrumental in delivering the business agility, elastic scalability, enhanced security, and reduction in our support for on-premise commodity solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for security systems that assist in safeguarding information system resources and associated assets.
- Ensure integration of technology that upholds the Information Security policies and standards, as well as meets firm business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide documentation to support proposed improvements.
- Provide 24X7 support of critical security infrastructure components to ensure system availability.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Information Systems or related disciplines. Security certifications are a plus, but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years Information Systems Security experience or 5 years of Information Technology, system administration and/or networking preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of security systems , risks, concepts and terminology.
- Hands on experience with security aspects of critical technologies (e.g., Linux, Windows, Cloud, Web, Kubernetes, LDAP, Network, Firewalls, Application Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Authentication, Authorization, DNS, Load Balancers and Vulnerability Assessment Tools).
- Proficient understanding of project management and system development lifecycle methodologies, Agile preferred .
- Comprehension of basic scripting languages (e.g., shell, PERL, Visual Basic, PHP, Expect).
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve security, network, and system issues using tools such as Wireshark, browser developer tools, etc.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of proxy systems, zScaler experience preferred
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of web applications firewalls (ASM and VMWare AVI) with knowledge of application security best practices.
