The Edward Jones Technology Cost Basis and CPR team is looking for a Java/Open Systems technical consultant who will utilize technical skills, complete software development tasks, and provide technical leadership for team members. This will be accomplished by interacting with vendors, enhancing applications, developing software, and tools, and providing support to our Cost Basis and Client Performance Reporting systems. The systems are mostly Back-end java services. Our systems are key to Edward Jones’s daily business operations as they allow our advisors and clients to view their portfolio of investments including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds – their Tax Cost Basis, and Investment Rate of Return. Our team provides solutions that allow our clients to access this investment information. The team solves complex issues and collaborates with other areas to generate solutions and address problems.
Minimum of 7 years of experience directly related to Java development.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Engineering preferred or related work experience.
- Considered a subject matter expert in a digital discipline (business solutions, systems development, infrastructure area, planning, security) and have experience across multiple platforms in an area or multiple technologies in a layer (network, computing, operating systems, data, application infrastructure, appliances, business solutions, security, systems management).
- Experience in Java, J2EE, REST Services, Spring, JavaScript, Jenkins, JMS/MQ, and JPA. Junit testing,, Kubernetes, Splunk / Dynatrace, and also working experience in Spring Batch, Jenkins, SQL, DB2, React JS
- Successfully completed software development tasks with high quality and in a timely manner.
- Provide direction as to the effective use of technology within the enterprise architecture.
- Provide leadership related to technical aspects of tools, methodologies, best practices and processes and standards that apply to their technical area of expertise.
- Research technical improvements and takes the initiative to communicate/implement solutions.
- Participates and represents the area in cross-functional groups.
- Actively mentor and train other associates in their areas of expertise.
- Communicates issues and problem resolutions with all affected stakeholders, and business areas. and vendors. Research requirements to determine system feasibility, costs, benefits, or functional requirements.
