Job Posting for CATIA Drafting Engineer at Edwards Interiors, Inc.
Position Purpose: Under general supervision, perform activities related to creating technical blueprints based on customer engineering, material specifications, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T), and identifying and troubleshooting potential issue for the manufacturing process. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
Produce 2D CATIA technical blueprints as required.
Interact with planners and customers as required, to finalize manufacturing plan.
Review engineering designs and drawings for tolerances, surface finishes, dimensions, material selection, processing, heat treat, etc. for accuracy and manufacturability.
Applies engineering knowledge in the investigation and solution of complex technical problems.
Provides floor support to Operations during work and coordinates additional technical floor support as needed.
Additional Functions:
May represent department in contacts with other departments and may be required to coordinate efforts with vendors or customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work to continuously improve manufacturing methods, efficiency, and product quality.
Assist in tool and fixture design in support of Operations.
Other Requirements:
Good verbal and written communication skills required.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Must possess good drafting, math, and geometry skills.
Must be proficient with CATIA modeling, drafting and/or other basic 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks.
