The Role
The Quality manager is responsible for ensuring that the STC is compliant in accordance with ISO9001:2015. ISO14001, ISO45001 (or local equivalents) and Vacuum Technique Quality standards at all times.
The emphasis being on reliability, repeatability, and safety.
This enables proactive continuous improvement and optimisation solutions.
This produces reduced operating costs through being embedded into the STC Quality Assurance and control systems.
The Quality manager operates as part of the STC management team.
The Quality manager must interface with all levels within the STC operational environment
What we expect from you:
Accountable for the reduction in defective parts, process errors/inefficiency and warranty costs).- Accountable for ensuring the service technology centre is compliant to ISO9001 Quality Management System, ensuring compliance to all applicable Excellence Quality Element Documents. Supporting adherence of ISO14001 Environmental System, ISO45001 Health and Safety Management System or Vacuum Technique Quality Management System or local equivalents.
- Supports Service Technology Centre Vacuum Technique Production System methodology, behaviour adherence with a strong focus on 6S and training.
- Responsible for on time change distribution. Accountable for communicating SIB (Service Information bulletin) briefing SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), GSG (Global Service Group), ST (Service Test) updates that are located on the SharePoint, service SBU.
- The Quality Manager is accountable for supporting any training rollout of any global quality standard process, document improvement within their service technology centre within a specified timeline if there is a requirement to do so.
- Accountable for reviewing, monitoring and controlling of local care sheets.
- Accountable for managing reporting of Service Technology Centre key performance indicators) KPI’s on a monthly basis updating in real time to the global service leadership team.
- Accountable for FRACAS (Failure Reporting Analysis Corrective Action System) co-ordination and reporting.
- Accountable for Quality Assurance, test, failure analysis (FTTPR), customer feedback non-conformances through Root Cause Analysis. The Quality Manager is accountable for managing the cycle from identification to effective closure, ensuring that the identified non-conformance has been 100% mitigated or stabilised. The Quality Manager must attend the global quality monthly reviews and share effective continuous improvements as preventative measures for similar products, processes, locations. The Quality Manager must escalate all non-conformances that cannot be solved within the service technology centre. The Quality Manager must clearly identify and understand whether non-conformance is local or global.
- Drive continuous improvements activities through proactive reviews and observations by being responsible for leading all internal and external customer audits – systems and procedures. This includes identification and execution of corrective and permanent actions.
- Responsible for managing the Service Technology Centre activity that identifies and mitigates all identified potential risks using the correct and appropriate quality tools. Supports all process reviews.
- Responsible for all aspects of the calibration process.
- Accountable and responsible for their Service warranty costs and impact driving performance through monitoring, review, and continuous improvement activities.
- Represents Vacuum Technique to customers for any quality and reliability non-conformances or issues as required. Responsible for supporting customer visits and audits and feeding back the voice of the customer into global service operations.
- Depending on the size of the service technology centre. The Quality Manager may be accountable for leading a team of Quality Engineer(s) providing objectives, priorities, development opportunities, guidance, and technical support to each individual.
- Accountable for administrating, monitoring, and controlling the Service Concession and Permit Application System for all concessions and permit originated and / or extended within their Service Technology Centre.
- Responsible for showing an active approach towards broadening their team knowledge and understanding through gaining recognised qualifications.
Skills
Degree / HND level qualification (or local equivalent) in an Engineering/Quality discipline- Green or Black belt Six Sigma
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quality discipline
- Knowledge and experience of ISO9001:2015 QMS, knowledge of ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management System, ISO45001 Health & Safety management system of local equivalent.
- Training and instilling of best practice within a manufacturing operational environment.
- Knowledge of Quality Function Deployment with evidence of Voice of the Customer.
- Evidence of an analytical approach (continuous improvement, control and monitoring) using qualitative and quantitative Quality management tools and techniques.
- Experience of validation and verification essential.
- Proven experience of change management, teamwork, active listening, communication, collaboration, and empathy essential. Resource management and development desirable.
- Experience and knowledge of Manufacturing operations and processes.
- Knowledge and / or experience of Lean desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Power BI and Minitab desirable.
- Proficient in English – written and speaking.
