What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Campus Specialist - California position at EF Education First?
As a Human Resources Campus Specialist for EF Education First, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides effective and timely HR support and collaboration for and with employees, managers and the HR and Payroll teams. EF’s HR/Benefits team core functions include benefits administration, employee lifecycle activities, employee relations and professional development. You will have exposure to team processes in all these areas in this role, which will focus on the support of campuses in California, with a primary focus on EF’s new Academy in Pasadena with occasional HR support for the three Language School campuses in the state (San Diego, Santa Barbara and San Francisco).
What you’ll do:
- Help extend offers and on-board staff for our campus locations.
- Work with staff to help them understand and make the most of EF’s benefits plans.
- Help staff understand and navigate our Time Off, Leave policies and plans.
- Provide daily support to staff/ managers regarding HR policies, processes, and tasks
- Support employee engagement and retention.
- Conduct exit interviews, providing administrative support to the employee and internal teams.
- Act as the initial touchpoint for employee relations issues in our California locations.
- Report on and analyze employment data.
- Collaborate with EF’s central Payroll team on California-specific issues and opportunities.
- Stay current on changing California-specific employment laws.
- Demonstrate excellent proactive habits and work independently.

- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Prior HR experience. Strong preference to a candidate with experience with California HR laws and practices and employment in an education-based setting/ environment. A minimum of 3-5 years preferred.
