Tender

Position Summary

The Tender position is responsible for tending and operating machines that package product. The position is fast-paced and requires a high level of observation and communication with coworkers. 

Key duties include:

• Tending or operating machines that packages product
• Removing finished packaged items from machines and separating any rejected items
• Regulating wrapping machine flow, speed, and/or temperature
• Addressing any machine malfunctions in accordance with established procedures
• Securing finished packaged items by hand tying, sewing, gluing, stapling, or attaching fastener
• Replenishing packaging supplies
• Removing any waste from production areas to maintain safe environment and improve efficiency
• Maintaining and improving 5S activities, keeping work areas clean, orderly, safe for all team members
• Communicating frequently with coworkers and leadership
• Working in a fast-paced, efficient, and safe manner
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English language
• Basic math skills, including counting, adding, and subtracting
• Ability to stand or walk at a fast-pace for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 30 pounds
• Frequent squatting, kneeling, bending and stooping
• Requires use of steel/composite safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and earplugs for safety
