* Baristas have a variety of tasks but primarily prepare or serve hot or cold beverages such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees or teas. Baristas provide customers with details about the product such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions. They clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment; answer phone calls and process payments. A formal education is not necessary. On-the-job training of our POS Systems, service standards and Menu is required. A food handler certificate is also required during initial training since back-of-house assistance and food handling might be needed, such as packaging carry out orders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Able to count units of money, weight, or otherwise.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions or concerns from guests, management and coworkers.
Adheres to company policies and processes.
Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays based on business need
Proficiency in using all systems: POS, telephones, iPads, and pagers.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to work the shifts agreed with management upon hiring.
May require shifts with extensive standing and walking.
Able to go up and down stairs.
Able to regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Able to perform simple grasping or squeezing, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, repetitive hand and arm movements.
Able to bend, stoop or squat to grab lower shelf items or clean.
Common visual function such as near vision and depth perception.
Able to talk and hear continuously when communicating with customers and employees in a moderate noise level environment.
