As the Vice President of Product Marketing, you will be a visionary that is a critical leader in the marketing team and strategic partner to the company. You must have the ability to create and bring new ideas internally to the executive team while balancing what is working and selling today. This person will know when to lead through clarity of communication and when to lead through example of executing. Every member on the marketing team is both player, coach and always an advocate for the function and the company. Passion, curiosity and attitude are key attributes to success for this position.
You will be a key member of our marketing leadership team, responsible for leading the Product Marketing efforts in the company. You will lead the process of bringing our product to market, promoting them, and selling the products to our customers and partners. You will define the product’s target audience and lead the definition of the strategic positioning and messaging that will boost demand and revenue and extend market leadership.
Your strengths include your skills in marketing strategy, definition of position and messaging and driving market leadership. You will guide a group of product marketers—each focused on a major product area, industry, or channel — in developing strategic plans that leverage the full marketing mix, messaging, content, and sales enablement that drives market leadership and customer success. You will drive collaboration with other functions such as product management, customer experience, sales, value acceleration, customer lifecycle marketing, growth marketing, corporate marketing, marketing operations and digital strategy.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Product / Industry / Market Strategy
- Drive product marketing direction for Egnyte, collaborating with other marketing functions such as revenue marketing, corporate marketing, partner marketing and inbound marketing.
- Understand market trends, customer requirements, usage and buying behavior, and the partner ecosystem to better identify market opportunities and customer demand for Egnyte's product offerings.
- Develop and own product positioning, messaging and value propositions that differentiate Egnyte solutions in the marketplace.
- Develop and activate Egnyte's core use case messaging and positioning
- Provide input and strategy into product roadmap and pricing based on market and customer research finding, industry analyst interactions and competitive findings.
- Use customer, partner and competitive research to influence product strategy and drive effective messaging.
- Manage and execute the industry marketing strategy
- Seller and Buyer Enablement
- Educate sales, product management, marketing teams and the partner channel about market dynamics, competitive landscape and competitor offerings.
- Work with the partner teams to develop solutions that support Egnyte’s GTM plays and deliver value to customers.
- Gather competitive intelligence on our key competitors and develop differentiated materials for the sales force and for external consumption.
- Define and manage the execution of a launch strategy for Tier 2-3 features and initiative
- Content
- Craft engaging audience-specific content, including solution briefs, web content, presentations, data sheets, whitepapers and sales playbooks that can be utilized globally.
- Educate the market about Egnyte’s core technical value offerings through deliverables such as demos, white-papers, workshops, presentations, and technical blogs, driving views of that content.
- Work with Egnyte’s Value Acceleration team to conduct ROI/TCO analysis and develop content to help customers make the business case for Egnyte.
- Team Management
- Attract, hire and manage highly skilled product marketeers.
- Develop team's strategy, budget, hiring and OKR's to build and measure team results.
- Support the team in setting clear goals and key results. Ensure that those are communicated and visible across the company and progress is shared regularly.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8-10 years of experience in product marketing
- 5-7 years of experience in the cyber security industry (preferably in data security, governance and/or privacy)
- 8 years of progressive management experience, with an emphasis on leadership, and engaging global and local stakeholders.
- Proven track record in building, getting buy-in and executing product marketing plans, and staying focused on “getting it done” in a fast-moving, technical environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications.
- Experience positioning products acquired through acquisitions
COMPENSATION:
- Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The range for base salary is $225,000-285,000. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. During the interview and/or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
