Description
POSITION: Medical Records Clerk
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Medical Records Clerk reports directly to the Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for filing activities, which include overall maintenance and retrieval of electronic medical records, correspondence, and documentation for files, such as diagnostic reports (e.g.: labs, x-ray, ultrasounds, mammograms, referral results, etc.).
Process requests to photocopy medical records and other related information and be responsible for timely distribution of incoming faxed lab reports, prescription requests, provider correspondence and any other reports related to the operations of the clinic and care issues of the patients. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Lead Medical Records Clerk, Clinic Manager, or designee.
- Set-up of offsite storage for medical records.
- Record on logs and prepares boxes of medical records for storage.
- Retrieve medical records as necessary from storage.
- Prepare various forms and logs as directed for clinics/programs use.
- Provide support and assistance for Health Care Services with clerical work and organization.
- Distribute memos, faxes, etc. to the clinics and programs.
- Photocopy, fax and file.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Good Oral and written communication and inter personal skills. Must be knowledgeable of computers and Bilingual (Spanish/English). Demonstrate professional and interpersonal skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must submit to and pass pre-employment background check and drug test. TB Test, COVID-19 Vaccines and Boosters required. BLS/CPR certification required.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma OR equivalent achievement. Minimum one (1) year of experience in medical records or medical office.
