Employee/Labor Relations Specialist
The Employee/Labor Relations Specialist provides consultation and assistance to the El Rio Health HR Representatives, leaders, and employees as it relates to human resource policies, practices, job performance, pay practices, collective bargaining and labor law, consistent with El Rio Health mission and values, philosophy, policies and applicable state and federal law. Responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting effective employment investigations, consultation regarding performance management, and progressive discipline, interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements, and resolution of grievances. The Employee/Labor Relations Specialist will liaise with labor union representatives, conduct exit interviews, analyze employee data and make recommendations to management. The Employee/Labor Relations Specialist works in conjunction with and support the Human Resources Department.
The primary goal of the El Rio Health Employee Relations Specialist is to support El Rio’s Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Relations or related field from an accredited college or university.
SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) Credential, Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR)
Five (5) years’ experience in working effectively with complex employment and labor relations issues; this experience must include three (3) years’ experience with supervising professionals, and performing duties at a level equivalent to those performed by an HR Leader dealing with employee and labor negotiations.
Five (5) years’ experience addressing and resolving issues related to:

Demonstrates extensive knowledge and ability to:
Apply and assure compliance with employment laws, policies and collective bargaining agreements in administering all aspects of HR policies and practices.
Monitor HR standards, and policies and procedures.
Effectively communicate, build relationships, and work with a variety of individuals and groups, in a constructive and collaborative manner
Manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver’s license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.
If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.
Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:
Master’s Degree in Human Relations or related field from an accredited college or university.
Five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Seven (7) years’ experience working in a Human Resources Department; preferably with Labor Union partnerships.
