POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Quotation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the sales and bidding process of the company. Your main responsibility will be to prepare accurate and competitive quotations for products or services based on customer requirements and company capabilities. You will work closely with the sales, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure that the quotations align with the company's strategic goals and meet customer expectations. Your ability to analyze technical specifications, understand project scopes, and provide pricing estimates will be essential in securing new projects and contracts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Research target industries and identify the areas where company’s offerings can be helpful to
them.
- Quotation Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate quotations for products or services, considering
factors such as materials, labor, overheads, profit margins, and other associated costs.
- Technical Analysis: Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze technical specifications, drawings, and
project scopes to accurately assess the resources required for each project.
- Cost Estimation: Utilize cost estimation tools and methodologies to determine the cost breakdown of each
project component, considering variables such as production processes, materials, labor rates, and
equipment.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market prices, and competitor offerings to ensure that
the company's quotations are competitive while maintaining profitability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and objectives,
ensuring that quotations align with the client's needs and expectations.
- Customization: Tailor quotations to address specific client needs, highlighting value-added features and
benefits that differentiate the company's offerings.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all quotations, pricing details, and communication with
clients, providing a comprehensive overview of the quoting process.
- Review and Approval: Collaborate with management and senior stakeholders to review and approve
quotations before submission to clients.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline the quotation
process, enhance accuracy, and improve response time.
- Client Communication: Address client inquiries and clarifications regarding quotations, providing timely and
accurate information to support the sales process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
Preferred:
- Associate degree
- Blueprint/Drawing reading
- IPC/WHMA 620 Certified or any other IPC training
