Summary:  Responsible for the leadership, development, and management of the materials and purchasing areas.  Responsibilities for supply chain management include the following: material planning, supplier sourcing/contracting, procurement, inventory control, and storage.

Job Duties:

  • Lead continuous improvement across all supply chain activities, negotiating on behalf of the company, anticipating market dynamics, and mitigating tariff impacts, all of which impact total cost. This includes inbound/outbound freight, cash discounts, payment terms, and supplier relationships.
  • Lead the organization in achieving superior inventory turn ratios as benchmarked with industry standards.
  • Lead the organization in developing and implementing supply chain management systems to ensure that material availability is matched with customer demand. Develop, establish, and provide for the maintenance of reporting systems that relate to the materials function. Measurements include inventory turns, inventory accuracy, purchase price variance, and supplier scorecard metrics.
  • Lead and direct the Warehouse Manager to ensure the use of best business practices for inventory control and accuracy. Establish standard metrics within warehouse to best manage inventory and personnel/resources. 
  • Ensure that the purchasing / materials areas are supporting quick and accurate responses to requests for quotation.
  • Establish and maintain purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with our vendors.  Keep informed on compliance matters which affect purchasing policies.
  • Responsible for continuing programs of researching for new materials, suppliers and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity and delivery.
  • Lead the process of vendor selection, assess vendor capabilities, develop alternate sources, set and communicate expectations of vendors, evaluate vendor performance, and negotiate price, delivery, terms and rebates.
  • Manage, control, and direct the activities of personnel engaged in site materials support (purchasing, warehouse, inventory control, shipping, and receiving) in order to contribute positively to customer satisfaction.
  • Manage areas to meet company requirements for ISO procedures, budgets, staffing, associate performance and professional growth/development.  Develop and maintain SOP’s related to areas of responsibility.
  • Mentor and coach team members and ensure expectations are met.
  • Participate in special projects and perform all other duties as assigned.

PRE-REQUISITE:  Four-year college degree in related field or its equivalent required.  MBA or APICS certification preferred.  Seven to ten years’ experience preferably in electronic manufacturing materials environment using an ERP system, with a minimum of five years related management experience.  Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 desired. Knowledge of USMCA, REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals is a plus.  Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office and other software systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS: General office and production environment.
