**Description**
The Nevada Whole Health Intern will be responsible for supporting associates who plan activities specific to Medicaid members' Maternal Child Health, Chronic Conditions, Behavioral Health, and Social Determinants of Health needs.

**Whole Health Program** : Healthcare now looks at everything about a person - both physical and behavioral health conditions, where they live, their housing and food status, what types of medication they take - instead of just one symptom in order to address their health needs. Gather the data that the Whole Health related teams need build and track those program components to improve the health of Nevadans.
**Whole Health Program Structure:** An important foundation to a program within Elevance Health is the set of policies and procedures that provide guidance to those involved. Work with the Whole Health Director to verify and revise the guidance that the Nevada Medicaid team follows in their Whole Health initiatives.
**Health Equity** : According to the CDC, Health Equity is "the state in which everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health". Collaborate with Nevada associates who work on Health Equity initiatives to build and track programs that create that fair and just opportunity to the Nevada Medicaid community.
Functions OR examples of projects for this role:
Monitor progress against goals for one of Nevada's Whole Health domains: Maternal Child Health, Chronic Conditions, Behavioral Health, and Social Determinants of Health.
Prepare presentation about Whole Health program component for higher level leadership
Support preparations for Nevada Health Equity Collaborative and Whole Health Steering Committee
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the summer internship program
Rising junior or senior actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in public health, social work, healthcare administration, or other related degrees at an accredited college/university
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral
Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and a quick learner as training will be provided.
Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills.
Excellent Presentation skills.
Basic knowledge of healthcare industry, especially Medicaid.
