As the first point of contact for patients seeking care, receptionists represent the company and are critical for relaying information to patients and clinicians that will help patients get better, faster. Responsibilities include:
- effectively communicating with patients and clinicians
- cheerfully and empathically interacting with patients attempting to seek care
- efficiently promoting new service lines
- adeptly verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
- discreetly collecting copays and notifying patients of balances, coinsurances, or deductibles
- quickly fielding phone calls, emails, texts, social media mentions, and other communication modalities while fluidly and securely transmitting sensitive data
- smoothly scheduling patients and configuring waitlists
- verification of insurance for assigned provider(s)
- in-person position
