What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Elgen Staffing?
Our client, a nationwide leader in commercial safety solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic, to join their winning team in Milwaukee.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for assisting in repairing and maintaining basic machinery and mechanical/electronic equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs basic scheduled preventative maintenance (PM)
- Basic maintenance knowledge
- Maintains tools and tool storage area
- Manages scrap metal/wood disposal process
- Knowledge of large compactor operation
- Knowledge of plant and departments layout
- Completes Industrial Lift Truck Certifications
- Ability to read basic blueprints
- Cleans machines, tools, and other equipment
- Maintains Buildings & Grounds
- Supports Continuous Improvement
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma graduate (courses in Industrial Arts preferred)
- Some experience required to become familiar with building areas, facilities, and routine assignments; or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Good mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Basic math skills required.
- Forklift experience preferred.
