What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director Foundation position at Elggren Consulting LLC?
Primary Responsibilities
- Working closely with and reporting directly to the Board to implement the Board’s strategy, plans, and resource allocation in accordance with budget
- Develop a deep understanding of the history, people, leaders and prior/current efforts related to the Board vision
- Some travel required; minimum of 2-3 visits per year in country with ability to flex to more if necessary
- Primarily operating in executive, coordination and organizational capacity across various sites and supervising site directors. Will work with others that assist with operations, finance, legal and the like
- Cross functional responsibility to understand and manage diverse programs of the Foundation, including training, nutrition, education, agriculture and operational self-sufficiency of the organization
- Will have a role in working with Board members and others in raising funds for operations, though not primary role
- Learn from and work with others in the organization that have mastered in country agricultural, nutritional and operational tactics
- Will work with other leaders to make sites and operations more self-sufficient
Criteria
- Understands opportunity and challenge of the Philippines or other similar developing countries
- Primarily business and/or economic and development background (social or public health background optional); has had full P&L responsibility for an organization
- Experience leading an NGO is helpful, though not required. Should understand the unique challenges of how humanitarian organizations fund operations and interact with other groups in field
- Highly responsive and clear communicator
- Ability to lead and inspire others through trust and competency, including the leadership of “peer” individuals
- Highly motivated by the mission and service mentality; proficiency working with religious partners
- Strong adherence to principles of organizational and family self-reliance, both in terms of training on these principles and following them in the Foundation’s use of funds
