We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Technician at a client’s Manufacturing facility in the Franklin Park area. As a Quality Control Technician, you have the responsibility of ensuring the assurance of component and finished goods’ compliance to ensure product quality. You will be reporting directly to the Quality Manager and indirectly to the Production Supervisor.
Shift: Night Shift 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Quality Technician is responsible for the assurance of component and finished goods’ compliance to ensure product quality. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and indirectly to the Production Supervisor.
- Master and perform correct measurement techniques.
- Initiate and communicate reactions to out of spec conditions.
- Interpret inspection results and product output to ensure no nonconformances are release.
- Provide operations with information and services as requested for problem solving.
- Cooperate and communicate with the entire quality team to ensure seamless and consistent decision-making and support to operations; actively participate in daily shift hand-off.
- Communicate and train line personnel and operations personnel on product requirements.
- Ensure all documents and records are compliant with customer & regulatory requirements and complete with approvals (or deviations/reactions/communications as necessary).
- Quarantine any nonconforming/suspect material and make disposition (with help from management when necessary).
- Promote quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
Requirements
Education
- High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Work Experience Requirements
- Strong verbal communication skills as demonstrated in the context of the interviewing processes.
- Strong inter-personal skills as demonstrated in the context of the interviewing processes and verifiable references.
- 2 years experience required
- Experience in inspection in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with micrometers, calipers, Magna-Mike and other instrumentation a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and consistent follow-through to persevere through change resistance
Physical Requirements
The following physical requirements are also necessary in order to be successful in this role
- Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day
- Will climb stairs on an occasional basis
- Will lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
- 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).
