The Manager, Organizational Development & Effectiveness is responsible for providing expertise and solutions related to talent management, employee engagement and organizational development, focused on enhancing the effectiveness of Elkay talent. This role partners with business leaders and all departments to ensure proper collaboration on the development and implementation of projects and programs which contribute to the continued growth of the organization. This position requires the ability to understand business needs and provide productive and impactful solutions. This position is responsible for research, design, execution, and evaluation of strategic plans, programs, projects, and processes that increase the role and impact of organizational development on the company’s effectiveness and performance success. This includes the continuous evaluation and evolution of all major components included in organizational effectiveness, performance management, talent management, talent review & succession planning, organizational learning & development, employee engagement, culture & experience, team dynamics and effectiveness, organizational performance, and the development of a human capital analytics. This position manages enterprise-affecting projects, processes, programs, and systems, and must be able to align initiatives with positive business outcomes for all business divisions and corporate strategy initiatives within Elkay, including team and employee engagement, development, performance effectiveness & retention. This role has people management, vendor management, and budget management responsibility. Lead the design and execution of Elkay’s Organizational Talent Review & Succession Planning Strategy. Develop and utilize best-in-class research, tools, processes, and data gathering methods to conduct needs and gap analyses, risk assessments, and supporting analytics. Continuous benchmarking and validating of program elements, including back-testing data for empirical evidence of succession planning health, risk and impact analysis, talent matrix (9box) success prediction & more. Consult with Executive and Sr. Leadership and Elkay managers to drive awareness and adoption of this critical program. Configure software systems to support the Talent Review needs of employees, managers, human resources professionals, and executives. Create and manage an employee listening program and system that reaches beyond employee engagement. Manage configuration and implementation of employee surveys software to align with organizational and stakeholder needs. Consult with stakeholders to intake, create, administer, analyze, and action plan on employee survey and feedback data, utilizing knowledge of best practices and survey design to ensure success and follow-through on survey results. Responsible for project management of employee listening programs including survey build, survey design, system & network testing, dashboard design & testing, communication planning through all phases, internal control planning & management of local HR and plant needs (employee data files, survey meeting materials & preparation, technology requirements and forecasted scheduling). Partner with stakeholders to recommend and execute data-backed decisions and action plans. Develop and lead the execution of Elkay’s e-Learning platform and strategy. Design and configure Elkay’s learning management system and business processes to promote effective hybrid learning opportunities for employees across the organization utilizing best practices for synchronous, asynchronous, required, and self-directed learning. Lead the creation and deployment of content tied to organizational initiatives, needs, and strategies to promote organizational learning and growth. Consult with business leaders to identify and create custom-tailored content and pathways based on functional and business needs analyses and requirements. Proactively partner with the company’s functions to create and recommend systems and processes to increase effectiveness of initiatives. Utilize Workday and other Elkay software to design solutions for functional onboarding, knowledge sharing, business acumen facilitation and overall employee lifecycle and experience improvements. Collaborate with direct manager to ideate, design, manage and implement leadership development programs and employee training workshops across the organization. Develop a toolkit & process for conducting gap-analyses utilizing performance goal and competency data from annual performance reviews, talent review and succession planning data, Talent SWOT analyses, Learning Management System data, and stakeholder interviews to identify needed curriculum that aligns with overall and team-specific business strategy. Evaluate content against organizational values, leadership competencies, and validated employee assessments to ensure alignment of learning outcomes to organizational strategy. Lead and design the organizational performance management system and processes. Design structure of performance process that supports the strategic initiatives of the organization. Continually evaluate the effectiveness of the performance management process and systems for effectiveness and improvement. Manage the employee assessment process for Elkay. Vendor coordination for employee assessments including 360’s. Coordinate and facilitate assessment debrief and support. Educate and equip Elkay leaders with the skills needed to build employee development plans. Leverage Workday technology, e-learning systems, organization-wide evaluations, and voice of the employee programs to drive human capital analytics and organizational effectiveness solutions. Directly lead the Organizational Development Specialist and seasonal intern(s). Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, or related field required. Master’s Degree in related field strongly preferred. 5 years of progressive experience executing organizational development programs and stategies. Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Project Management – Proven ability to take initiative and manage projects from start to finish with minimal supervision; often requiring prioritization of multiple projects and deadlines concurrently. Developing Objectives & Strategies - Ability to develop strategic roadmaps for departmental initiatives in support of key organizational outcomes. Conducting Research & Analysis - Strong analytical skills with ability to conduct research and use independent judgment to proactively propose needed changes in processes, programs, and systems with the intent of continuous improvement. This includes independent research of both qualitative and quantitative information and the ability to clearly disseminate information to stakeholders. Technological Expertise – Ability to learn and adapt to a variety of software & systems quickly and with proficiency. Learning Agility – Possesses the capacity to learn and retain new information & knowledge outside of expertise. Interpersonal Relationship Building – Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others. Strong Communication skills – Ability to communicate effectively in all facets of work while crafting the messaging appropriately for differing audiences, including Executive presentation skills and facilitation skills, communicating for the purposes of educating and training others, communicating for the purposes of teambuilding and collaboration, persuasion and negotiation with both internal and external individuals, and executive presence. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods and statistics for social sciences. Leading and Influencing Others - This position manages a variety of organization-wide projects and processes and its incumbent will need to possess the ability to provide direction, instruction, deadlines and accountabilities to others. must be skilled at managing others to timelines including vendors.
