Job Title: Buyer

Summary
The Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. This individual is also responsible for ensuring products purchased are at the lowest cost and meet the delivery schedule. The Buyer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Review of buyer’s guide on a daily basis.
· Purchase of materials, equipment and supplies at the lowest cost.
· Ensure the timely delivery of all products including expediting long-lead items.
· Negotiate costing with vendors.
· Conduct in-person meetings with vendors to maintain a good relationship.
· Interface with all departments, most heavily with Engineering and Accounting for the purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies.
· Maintain materials and components database accuracy.
· Provide quotes as requested.
· Perform duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
· Prepare and maintain project organization and communication charts.
· Attend production meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members and document all pertinent updates.
· Document the status of sold jobs and communicate reasonable contractual deadlines.
· Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the customer and project team.
· Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude.
· Keep all team members informed about project status and issues that may impact customer relations.
· Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
· Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
· Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and 3-5 years of experience with supporting team members in the delivery of projects or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in MS Project or other tracking software and the MS Office Suite of products.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports. Ability to effectively present information to others.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to collect data, track information, and update stakeholders accordingly.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and manufacturing software system.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
