What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Associate position at ELO CPA & Advisors?
ELO CPAs & Advisors is growing our Tax Practice and is searching for a Tax Associate. Our experienced tax team has expertise in understanding the laws and requirements of today’s tax rules, they also take the time to work closely with our clients throughout the year to ensure compliance is met. ELO can efficiently and effectively work with clients on all things tax related.
The Tax Associate is responsible for preparing tax returns for clients and ensuring they comply with state and federal regulations. Tax Associates work closely with the tax practice team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed, including tax planning, client interaction, and performing special tax projects.
Typical day in the life:
- Gather relevant tax-related information from clients to prepare an accurate tax return.
- Looks into tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
- Prepares personal, corporate, S-Corp, Partnership, and Trust returns that are simple to moderately complex.
- Respond to IRS tax notices.
- Provide client support and assistance regarding tax and accounting-related items.
- Prepare tax planning, projections, and estimates.
- Review financial records, income statements, and expenditures.
What will get you noticed:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, business, or related field.
- CPA certified or the eligibility to work towards obtaining a CPA license.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in public accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Strong understanding of clients’ businesses and industries.
- Commitment to flexibility in an always-changing profession.
- Open and honest communication with the ability to execute written and oral presentation skills.
