We are currently looking for an energetic and self-driven Buyer for our North America region. This person will work in a team environment and assume purchasing responsibilities for our North American facilities. This position is based in Knoxville, TN.
What You Will Do:
- Generate purchase requisitions adhering to appropriate purchase authorization requirements and policies for global expenses, project, and capital expense requests
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices along with corresponding paperwork
- Lead purchasing activities for indirect material / services for all North America offices and operation facility
- Set up, plan and coordinate with vendors for services/materials for North America
- Execute p-card purchases and assist with monthly account reconciliation
- Monitor and follow up on past due purchase orders
- Reconcile invoice to purchase order variances
- Support new supplier on-boarding requests
- Complete ad hoc reporting and data entry as needed
- Ensure quality & compliance requirements are met throughout the procurement process and support department continuous improvement
- Other duties as assigned
You Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 1-year relevant experience
Ideally, You Will Bring:
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, MS Dynamics, Oracle)
- Strong skills in MS Office including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO requirements related to procurement activities
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at various levels of expertise on a global landscape
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Enjoys working in a collaborative environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift to OSHA single person lift requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Office work – primarily using phone and PC
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
