Elumatec is currently seeking a Field Service Technician. The qualified candidate will be highly skilled and motivated to perform new machine installations, machine tool diagnosis and repairs. Must be proficient in diagnostics and repairs of CNC machine tools as well as installation of machine tool. Technicians are required to travel throughout the United States, and Canada Monday through Friday. Travel expense, cell phone, laptop, tools and uniforms will be provided.
Applicant should have a minimum 3 years of experience in CNC service and knowledge of CNC controls.
Mechanical:
· Knowledge and experience of machine assembly, alignment, and levelling to OEM specifications
· Knowledge and experience of ball screw and bearing replacement and alignment including linear bearings and rails
· Knowledge and experience of pneumatic systems, ability to read and understand pneumatic schematics and repair electrically operated valves, reducers, and cylinders
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including gear racks, bearings, and assembly of equipment from component parts
· Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and layout schematics
· Knowledge and understanding of basic mechanical measuring tools, ie caliper and tape measure, feeler gauges
· Ability to comfortably work in metric and standard measuring systems
Electrical:
· Knowledge and experience of electrical systems and electronics
· Able to use electrical multi meter to fault find and troubleshoot on electrical systems up to and including 600V DC
· Ability to read and understand European style electrical schematics to fault find and troubleshoot machine problems
· Knowledge and understanding of PLC logic and VFD - Beckhoff, Ferrocontrol and NUM would be an advantage
· Knowledge and understanding of transformers with respect to input/output voltages and neutral connections
· Ability and knowledge of electro/mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting
Personal:
· Knowledge and understanding of maintenance and operation of CNC equipment
· Self-motivated, ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent customer interaction skills
· Professional appearance
· Valid driver's license
· Ability to travel and work in Canada, and the USA
