Responsibilities
- Residential Operations Oversight
- Plan, organize, and schedule the daily and weekly activities for both clients and staff to ensure optimal functioning of the residential program.
- Ensure client safety, security, and compliance with residential program rules and, at all times, respond to the facility during incidents or times of need.
- Serve as a secondary contact for parents in matters related to residential care.
- Staff Management & Development
- Directly manage residential staff, providing leadership, guidance, and support.
- Oversee the hiring process, including interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new staff members to maintain adequate staffing levels.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development to staff on therapeutic interventions and topics critical to Embark at Hurricane’s mission and program.
- Therapeutic and Client Support
- Demonstrate an understanding of the disorders and challenges faced by clients and their families.
- Ensure the proper implementation of therapeutic interventions and uphold Embark at Hurricane’s program requirements.
- Foster a supportive, compassionate environment for both clients and staff.
- Conflict Resolution & Team Building
- Resolve conflicts effectively and facilitate positive communication among staff and clients.
- Lead by example to build a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive team culture.
- Program Compliance & Evaluation
- Ensure compliance with Embark at Hurricane’s policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Regularly assess program effectiveness and suggest improvements for better outcomes.
- Interviewing & Hiring
- Lead the recruitment process, including conducting interviews, evaluating candidates, and making hiring decisions to ensure the selection of qualified staff.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure all hiring practices comply with legal and organizational standards.
- Manage the onboarding and training of new employees to integrate them successfully into the residential team.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience in residential or therapeutic program management with current or recent role in residential leadership.
- Knowledge:
- Company policies and practices.
- Client rules and program requirements.
- Disorders and issues facing clients and their families.
- Standard therapeutic interventions used at Embark at Hurricane.
- Professional and legal standards regarding employee management (hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating).
- Skills:
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving.
- Leadership, particularly by example.
- Proficiency in word processing software and ability to navigate local networks.
- Ability to teach and train on difficult topics.
