Responsibilities

As the Divisional Clinical Director, you will enjoy the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the region's "Chief Clinical Officer" and become the expert and source of truth in the Embark Treatment Approach (ETA) and our full continuum of services
  • Build and lead each area's clinical director team to reinforce ETA at each program (typically 3-5 in one area, and 12-15 in each region)
  • Understand, interpret, correlate, and integrate clinical data to drive improvements in client outcomes and satisfaction
  • Act as a resource, mentor, trainer, and supervisor for program- and area-level clinical directors and provide case consults, case conceptualization, and other learning opportunities
  • Become the expert in our available arsenal of clinical assessment tools, master treatment plan, electronic health records (EHR), timely documentation, and admissions and discharge criteria.
  • Create avenues to drive continuous improvement and accountability to key clinical measurements, including but not limited to recurring clinical director meetings, 1:1 or group supervision, and performance management conversations
  • Partake in selection, onboarding, ongoing training, and CEU opportunities for new and existing clinicians.
  • Serve as the go-to thought and execution partner in the clinical arena for our Division President, Regional Vice Presidents, and Area and Program Executive Directors.
  • Serve as the go-to problem solver and key leader in improving therapist retention and engagement
  • Lead Embark's internal program reviews, ensure our clinical and safety standards are enforced to meet legislative and accreditation requirements, and support programs through incidents, sentinel events, and their follow-up
  • Maintain a close relationship and partnership to Embark's national Clinical Services team and serve as a key liaison and communicator between our national Support Team and Field Team, driving consistency and standardization across programs in training, tracking metrics, and adherence to specific modality and intervention standards and systems
  • Potentially stepping in as a program- or area-level clinical director, and/or interim executive director, and/or lead and support an IOP/PHP group in the event of an absence or unexpected change in coverage
  • Report to the Senior Vice President of Operations initially and ultimately to the Regional Executive

Qualifications

What do you bring to this position?

  • Minimum master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences - Social Work (MSW), Clinical Social Work (CSW), Clinical Mental Counseling (CMHC), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a related discipline
  • Active and fully licensed in state of ​California (LMFT or LCSW or LPCC or Licensed Psychologist)
  • Must have at least 4 years of supervisory and managerial experience leading and influencing clinicians, partnering with operations leaders, and leading in a multi-site or multi-program setting
  • A desire to coach, mentor, and develop clinicians and drive policy adherence, outcomes accountability, and positive change
  • A track record of using clinical data and available tools (e.g. PHQ9, GAD7) and through a team approach, elevate client outcomes and experience
  • A desire to perform and develop counseling/therapeutic expertise in individual, family, and group therapy; experience working with youth mental health preferred
  • Ability to plan, implement, and adjust a course of treatment as required
  • Ability to pass a state background check
