At Ember, we are building a world where the experience of buying, owning, and selling a vacation home is simple and enjoyable for everyone. Ember provides an end-to-end platform that empowers people to realize the benefits of second-home ownership. As the Controller, you will lead the accounting function at Ember. You will run the accounting for the operations of our co-ownership vacation homes and manage journal entries, reconciliations, AP, and AR. You will prepare regular financial reports to meet the needs of the business. You will have the opportunity to design and implement accounting operations as well as define and develop core processes and systems. You are excited by the fast pace of a startup

In this position, you will:
- Prepare, review, and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements
- Manage Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable
- Maintain inventory balances
- Provide status of the financial condition of the business by collecting and reporting financial data
- Track home budgets to ensure projects are delivered within planned expense
- Manage property receivables and payables and report to owners on income, expenses, and cash flow
- Manage AP process by monitoring cash flows, scheduling payments, and automating processes
- Manage intercompany billing and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly allocations of shared expenses
- Review intercompany balances monthly to ensure balanced, and periodic cash transfers
- Work with external tax advisors on tax filings, statements, and notices
- Liaison with external auditors for financial, workers’ compensation, and payroll audits
- Maintain financial accounting and property management system integrity
You'll be a great fit if you have...
- 7 years of experience in accounting with 2 years of accounting management
experience
- BS in Accounting; MAcc or CPA preferred but not required
- Multi-entity experience with large numbers of corporate entities
- ERP experience (Netsuite experience strongly preferred)
- Experience processing large volumes of transactions and data
- Demonstrated ability to consistently hit deadlines and produce accurate financial statements and reports
- Ability to adapt processes to fit with a fast growing startup’s needs
- Real Estate experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
