POSITION SUMMARY

Provide supervision, work direction and training coordination for inspection of aerospace products/parts, ensuring compliance to all contractual and regulatory requirements. Direct Quality testing and confirmation of incoming materials, in-process and finished products using visual, mechanical and chemical property measurement methods. Act as liaison for FAA / ANAC quality related subjects. Coordinate Inspection support to meet Manufacturing demands while effectively interfacing with supporting groups. Direct employee performance reviews and implement staffing plan, ensuring that all procedures are being followed and company policies are being implemented.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the Quality team to ensure compliance with Company standards and the civil aviation regulations (FAA / ANAC)
  • Acts as the company liaison for FAA / ANAC coordination for all maintenance activities and is responsible for timely submission of all required FAA / ANAC maintenance reports.
  • Establishes, monitors, and improves inspection programs and procedures that assure company operated aircraft will be manufactured and maintained in safe, efficient and economical manner.
  • Coordinates root cause analysis and implements corrective and preventive actions
  • Monitors, reviews and coordinates compliance of Airworthiness Directives, Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer's service bulletins as applicable to airplane structures, systems, instruments, components, appliances, and engines and ensures compliance with.
  • Drives kaizens, continual improvement and Lean initiatives to improve Quality and improve efficiency Interacts with customers for resolution / completion of delivery issues / obligations.
  • Leads aircraft documentation process including preparation, review, approval and delivery of aircraft documents
  • Conducts reviews / audits for ensuring adherence to procedures and requirements
  • Prepares, compiles, and maintains all controlled documentation required for regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Ensures that employment law, health and safety guidelines are followed; and all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Manages behavior of people within responsibility and support their continuous professional development.
  • Hires, develops, and evaluates staff to Embraer’s expected standards.
  • Ensures team has the proper tools, training and materials to complete work assignments.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and Experience:

  • BS Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Preferably five (5) or more years working in a Quality role.
  • Preferably three (3) or more years in a leadership role.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to understand work and procedures, acting in problem solving, suggesting improvements.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and strong phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Self-starter, passionate, high-performer, etc.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of Lean manufacturing.
  • Understand technical management and quality assurance procedures.
  • Able to build, motivate, train, coach, and manage teams.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Flexible work schedule to support delivery process.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; MES; and SAP.
  • Able to present to customers, leadership and staff.

Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts as needed.
  • Ability to periodically work outdoors exposed to the elements
  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations, if a requirement of DOT regulations.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand, walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • May be required, on occasion, to be in a small confined area.
