Job Title : SIC Pipefitter Helper (GBORO FAR DD)
Job Summary : Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Pipefitter Helper for a project in Reidsville, NC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Basic knowledge and care of tools.
- Experience changing gaskets
- Prepares work area and assembles necessary tools.
- Selects specific type and size of pipe to cut, measure, thread and install under direct supervision of Pipefitter.
- Installs brackets on walls and other locations to secure hangers for pipes.
- Assist with the install of pipes, instruments, valves and other fittings.
- Cuts holes in walls and ceiling for pipe passage using pneumatic drill or hole saw.
- Assist with demolition, removal or re-routing of pipes and piping systems.
- Assist with loading, unloading and transporting material.
- Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Significant travel may be required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills :
- Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
- Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
- Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
Physical Requirements / Job Site Requirements :
- Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
- Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces.
- Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
- Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.
