Triangle Surgery Center is seeking an Ambulatory Surgery Center Administrator. We are a newly expanded, state of the art, physician owned and operated surgery center located in Raleigh with Orthopedics being our focus. Our surgery center has 3 Operating Rooms and 1 Procedure Room and a specialized and tenured staff which includes 40 FTEs. We provide the highest quality personalized care in a small team environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Operations
- Develops proper clinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality.
- Develops appropriate admission and discharge procedures and assures that pre-admission criteria are appropriately met.
- Researches and prepares cost reduction proposals and implements them as applicable.
- Evaluates ongoing patient care and reports significant patient issues to appropriate team members.
- Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations.
- Plans, evaluates, recommends, and implements new initiatives when appropriate.
- Selects and hires employees according to established guidelines. Monitors, coaches, develops, and evaluates performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards.
- Assures compliance with all policies and procedures and governmental regulations pertaining to:
- Controlled substances and legend drugs, including sample medications.
- Infection control.
- Patient confidentiality.
- CPR, ACLS, safety and risk management in collaboration with Safety Coordinator and HR.
- Quality improvement and quality assurance.
- Emergency codes and evacuation
- Professional licensure
- DOH, Medicare JCAHO/AAAHC, MQC and all other voluntary and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, employees, managers, and physicians.
- Assists with the development of patient education material.
- Supports and promotes a positive image of EmergeOrtho & BSC when dealing with patients and others inside and outside the organization.
- Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues.
Personnel
- Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates and disciplines of all assigned personnel
- Ensures all personnel are appropriately trained, licensed, and credentialed
- Supervises the development of job descriptions
- Provides oversight to the schedules for all assigned personnel in designated practice sites—recommends changes and improvements as needed
- Grants/denies days off for staff according to coverage and practice policy; ensures all posts are filled at all times
- Provides oversight for coordinating patient schedules with physician schedules
- Completes payroll for assigned employees
- Schedules and facilitates in-services for staff
- Monitors staff for compliance with continuing education requirements
- Directs and evaluates delegated tasks according to scope of practice and employee skill set
- Provides supervision for assigned staff including unlicensed personnel
- Administers and documents employee vaccinations and TB screening to ensure compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Assesses and evaluates patient flow in designated practice sites—recommends changes for quality patient service and care
- Collaborates with Executive team, other management team members and physicians to plan and execute process changes that improve patient care services and patient management
- Implements physician-approved clinical protocols and patient care and triage standards, facilitating all documentation and related tasks
- Oversees the instruction of others regarding specialized knowledge and skills necessary to perform clinical techniques and routines within scope of employee’s skill set and licensure
- Provides timely follow-up for patient questions/concerns and maintains a record of communication and completion
- Assists physician or physician extender with patient care, as directed
- Assists with analysis and utilization of other clinical data provided by plans and hospitals; provides results to CEO, management team and physicians
- Initiates quality assurance measures for purposes of system changes/improvements
- Provides oversight for safety committee
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practice
- Maintains compliance with practice policies and procedures
- Attends annual CPR, OSHA, or other designated training programs
- Attends all regular meetings
- Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the CEO or physicians
Patient Care
