If you are an accounting professional, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our St. Louis, Missouri location, you will be responsible for administration of, or support and assistance in Corporate Accounting’s preparation of public reports to stockholders, analysts and governmental agencies. You will also assist in research, interpretation and implementation of accounting rules and regulations from regulatory bodies (i.e., FASB, SEC, FTC, DOC, etc.), as well as administer and/or assist with ad hoc special project work as necessary. AS A SUPERVISOR, EXTERNAL REPORTING, YOU WILL: - Reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission: - Assist with preparation of forms 10-K, 10-Q and other reports to SEC as necessary (e.g., Forms 8-K, registration statements, etc.). - Administer filing of reports to the SEC via EDGAR, including XBRL preparation. - Reports to Stockholders, Investors and Analysts: - Assist in preparation of Annual Report to Stockholders, Quarterly Earnings Press Release, Investor Presentations and CEO Earnings Call Slides. - Review and provide comments on draft documents provided by Investor Relations, focusing on accuracy and consistency with Forms 10-Q or 10-K and other published financial information. - Collaborate with Planning Department personnel to support Senior Management presentations and review for consistency with previously published data. - Reports to the Government: - Coordinate with Business Units and corporate departments to obtain data necessary to complete consolidated Emerson quarterly and annual government reporting as required by the Census Bureau, Department of Commerce and other government agencies. - Work with Business Units and corporate departments (General and International Accounting, Treasury, Tax, etc.), as necessary, to obtain financial data to complete core duties. Assist in the review of the data for reasonableness and accuracy. - Responsible for maintaining and updating North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) data for use in premerger notification filings with the Federal Trade Commission. - Maintain XBRL taxonomy database for Emerson and serve as main internal XBRL resource as well as liaison with XBRL service provider. - Perform stock compensation expense calculations for Emerson non-US entities’ statutory filings. Provide data to Business Unit CFOs. Assist Executive Compensation and auditors with related requests. - Assist with review and maintenance of Corporate Financial Policies and Procedures. - Assist Assistant Controller or Controller in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis projects as needed. - Assist in research, interpretation and implementation of new accounting rules and regulations from regulatory bodies. Qualifications:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: - Undergraduate degree in Accounting - 1+ years of audit or accounting experience, preferably with Big 4 - CPA Certification or in process required - Legal authorization to work in the United States PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: - Two to three years audit or accounting experience preferred - Exposure to technical accounting or SEC reporting is a plus. - Proficiency and/or experience with Microsoft Excel, Hyperion and Workiva are beneficial.
