What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Ramp Cargo Handler position at Emery Air?
Emery Air, LL. Aviation Ground Support Services Division is seeking several high energy, self-motivated individuals to add to or team of aviation ground support professionals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The work of a Ramp Agent includes but are not limited to:
- Unload - Load cargo while plane is parled at the gate.
- Marshal inbound aircraft into ramp area of assigned gate.
- Pushes back outbound aircraft out of the gate area.
- Performs FOD walks in the ramp area between flights.
- Ensures necessary ground equipment is available in the ramp area for upcoming flights.
- Report equipment problems and breakdowns to facilitate fast repairs.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to help achieve team goals.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain safe working conditions for yourself and others.
- Communicate with managers and supervisors to manage daily schedules. s.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and time management skills
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements for a Ramp Agent:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in confined spaces.
- Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push and pull for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment.
Schedule of Hours:
Emery Air operates twenty-four hours a day seven days a week in three operational shifts, Emery requires its employees to be able to work flexible schedules which may be adjusted to meet operational demands such as flight delays, cancellations, adhocs, etc. Applicants must be able to work on weekends, (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and holidays. Strict adherence to company attendance policies is expected and enforced.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position. Position specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- A valid clear driver's license
