Public Relations Strategist

The Public Relations (PR) Strategist will help develop the eMoney brand and product narrative and how it is communicated to the media and the industry at large. The primary responsibilities of the PR Strategist include contributing to the development and execution of eMoney’s PR strategy, creating talking points and pitches related to eMoney news, events, and product launches, establishing and owning relationships with the media/reporters covering financial services, fintech, business and consumer news, daily pitching and analysis of industry news and trends, conducting interview prep with eMoney spokespeople, and drafting press releases.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with the Director, Corporate Communications to develop and execute PR strategy reflective of product updates, company news and announcements, thought leadership, employer brand, and overall company narrative
• Establish and strengthen relationships with network of relevant reporters, analysts and influencers
• Create compelling media pitches related to eMoney expertise and industry trends
• Conduct daily analysis of fintech/financial services news and general trends
• Determine new PR approaches based on core understanding of business and product needs
• Draft press releases, bylines, quotes and commentary reflective of the eMoney brand message
• Generate earned media coverage in top tier trade, business and consumer publications
• Increase share of voice in fintech, financial planning, and financial wellness verticals
• Secure interviews and conduct interview briefing and prep sessions with eMoney spokespeople
• Identify new opportunities to generate brand awareness and media buzz at industry conferences and events
• Establish metrics for success, and conduct ongoing PR reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in public relations in-house or at agency
• An established network of relationships with reporters and influencers in the fintech/fins serv vertical and knowledge of the space

• Ability to tell complex stories creatively, highlighting the impact on target audiences
• Expertise staffing interviews and conducting prep sessions, especially with C-Suite level executives
• Excellent writer with experience writing for diverse audiences
• Passion for reading, interpreting and analyzing news to identify opportunities for differentiation
• Ability to work with cross functional teams to achieve collective goals
• Strong communicator with ability to tactfully educate, inform and share feedback
• Well-organized with attention to detail
• Creative spirit with desire to experiment, learn and make data-informed decisions.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $79,000; commensurate salary to be determined based on skills, professional background and expertise. This position is also eligible, pursuant to applicable eMoney policies, for the annual bonus program, retirement contributions, health insurance, sick leave, parental leave and paid time off.
